Chlorine Measurement

Chlorine Measurement

Chlorination is the most popular form of water disinfection. Applications range from drinking water treatment to swimming pool water disinfection - and industrial water treatment e.g. cooling and process water treatment.

The Chlorine compounds can be led into the water in many different ways, such as:

  • Metering of Sodium Hypochlorite

  • Metering of Chlorine gas
  • Metering of Chlorine gas and Ammonia (Chloramination)
  • Metering of organic Chlorine-containing disinfectants (e.g. isocyanuric acid derivates)
  • Electrolytic generation from Chloride

Different chlorine species can be present dependent on the method of chlorination the pH value and the composition of the process water.

Our Program offers the following Advantages:

  • Specific or combined measurement of the Chlorine compounds – largely without cross sensitivities
  • Exact and reliable online measurement
  • Selection of sensor technology for varying water qualities (as to pH value, salt content, temperature, pollution)
  • pH value may be controlled simultaneously to the regulation of the Chlorine concentration
  • Modular integration of all sensors required for the solution
  • Connection of the sensor to a measurement transducer with display for operation and direct forward to a programmable logic controller (e.g. PLC)
  • Control devices with optional accessories adjusted to the requirements
  • Integration of the control circuit into PROFIBUS ®-DP or CANopen-Bus systems
  • Easy calibration by means of a complete Photometer kit
  • Standardized complete, measurement and control stations as pre-packaged modules with independent components.
