Waste Water Treatment

Waste Water Treatment

Waste water from local communities contains a high amount of phosphates that contribute to the over-fertilization of waters. Increased algae growth and high oxygen consumption result in fish kills and upsets of the natural balance of water. However, the treatment of industrial effluents becomes more and more important due to increasingly stronger legal regulations and increasing costs for effluent disposal.

Maintaining the biologic balance and a healthy ecosystem requires the reduction of the phosphates in the effluent water. Phosphates are therefore reduced in the biological treatment step by biological phosphate elimination.

For observing even the highest demands for wastewater values in the various steps of purification generators, an additional phosphate precipitation step with metallic salts is initiated with chemicals such as ferric-III-chloride or alumium sulphate is executed.

In "simultaneous precipitation“ the precipitator is pumped into the input of the activated sludge tanks. The phosphates combine with the metallic salts to from insoluble particles that can be separated from the effluent without any problems.

ProMinent has decades of experience in designing and constructing purification generators for the removal of phosphate.
Essential generator components are:

  • Approved containers for storage of chemicals
  • Metering pumps for precise metering of chemicals
  • Control devices for avoiding  -under / over feeding of chemicals

For the flocculation of municipal effluents, ProMinent offers a large range of polyelectrolyte mixing stations ready for mixing and metering of flocculation additives.

For the optimization of the oxygen input into the activated sludge tanks (biological step) of the purification generators, we offer tailor-made sensors as well as measuring and control technology for the measurement of the dissolved oxygen.

For reliable pH correction, especially for industrial effluents, we offer both complete neutralization generators for fully automated pH control along with individual components for this application.
