Makro TZ Diaphragm Metering pump

Makro TZ Diaphragm Metering pump

The motor-driven diaphragm metering pump Makro TZMb because of its modular design is excellently suited to being adapted to the performance requirements of the particular application. A great variety of options is available for its operation, either one or two liquid ends and one or several add-on pumps which the customer can fit at a later stage.

A multi-layer safety diaphragm is the core of the liquid end. The large surface steel core is vulcanized in a chemical and temperature-resistent EPDM material and reinforced with polyamide fibre additionally.

The diaphragm is double-faced and coated with PTFE foil on the gear and work sides. This ensures that even in case of diaphragm rupture no leakage to the exterior occurs. In case of diaphragm rupture, the metering medium reaches the area between the diaphragm layers and, thanks to the special sensor area of the diaphragm, there, an alarm is activated. This concept of diaphragm sensing grants reliable metering even in critical operation modes.

Advantage

  • Higher diaphragm lifetime, lower maintenance costs, higher process safety: integarted alarm signal on diaphragm rupture with excess pressure recognition, even if diaphragm rupture occurs, there is no leakage of the fluid thanks to the latest diaphragm technology.
  • High process quality: Reproducibility of dosage better than ± 2 %
  • Borad field of application, easily adapted to existing processes due to its modular design.

Application Areas

  • The addition of chemicals based on measured values, e.g. acid and caustic metering for pH neutralization in wastewater treatment
  • Metering of treatment agents in industrial production technology
  • Time-controlled metering of chemicals for ion exchange regeneration

Features

  • Performance range for the single pump: 68 - 555 gph (260 – 2,100 L/h), 174 - 58 psig (12 - 4 bar)
  • Supplied as a single or dual-headed version
  • Push-pull operation of the liquid ends with dual head designs
  • Add on p[umps can easily be retrofitted on site if necessary
  • Each pump has its own independent stroking frequency due to its own internal gear reducer
  • Worm gear in 5 optional reduction ratios (4 for 60 Hz) as well as an adjustable crank drive via a sliding eccentric cylinder
  • Stroke length: 0 - 0.39" (0 - 10 mm), can be set for 0.5 % precision increments
  • Stroke length setting: manual (automatic optional with actuator)
  • Stroke rate: Standard speed motor or variable automatic capacity adjustment
  • Gear housing: cast housing with a coorosion resistant acrylic resin lacquer finish
  • Liquid end materials: Polypropylene, PVC, PTFE with carbon, stainless steel
  • Patented multilayer diaphragm, even with diaphragm rupture detection, hydraulic fluid and metered chemical remain separated
  • Repeatable accurancy under defined conditions and correct installation ± 2 % (stroke length 30-100 %)
  • Integrated alarm signal with diaphragm rupture and excess pressure recognition
  • Suction lift varies with density and viscosity of the medium as well as the connecting pipework and the number of strokes
